Introduction to Online Photo Sharing (Cancelled)
Digital cameras are everywhere, even in your telephone, but the age of the forgotten shoebox and the languishing bound photo album is almost over. In fact, there’s almost too many options for organizing, storing, and sharing your photos. Do you want to share pictures with others that share your interests - whether that’s gardening, classic cars, or night photography? Are you looking to dip your toe into selling photos? Are you looking for a place that will help you experiment and learn about photography? Or do you just want to make snapshots available to friends and family - in a place they can order their own prints?
In this introduction, you will learn about a selection of photo-sharing sites, how to choose where to put your pictures, the basics of photo uploading, and the range of options that online resources offer for using your photos.

Speaker: Caitlin Burke
Caitlin Burke is a writer and editor with over a decade of experience in publishing. She quickly gravitated to roles where she could use technology to participate directly in just about every aspect of publishing except for large-scale printing. She started participating in online communities in the early 90s, made her first website in 1995, and made her first photoblog in 2002. You can see some of her photography at her Flickr photostream.
Transit/Parking
Parking Garages: Across from TransAmerica Pyramid on Sansome (one way east), there is a CityPark garage. Street parking (truck zone meeters) is free after 6pm. Check for street cleaning limitations.
Take 1,10,15 buses. All Market street trolleys to First Street, head North to Sansome and Sacramento intersection.
Online ticket purchases via Acteva are available until 4PM day of event. At that time, we will print out the names of all of the purchasers, and bring that list to the event door, where we will check off your name if you are on it. Please, if you are the purchaser of multiple tickets, have the person who purchased the ticket present when you arrive at the event.
We reserve the right to cancel the workshop by 5 days prior to the event if we have not received at least 5 purchased tickets, which is the amount required to cover costs. If that occurs, customers who have purchased tickets can use those tickets for another workshop with SF WoW. We will contact you if the workshop is cancelled and manage tickets at that time.
